How to hold your own event

Firstly find a hill near you suitable for a ski slope. You need to have a run of 21 metres or a “Springle” if you want to try to set a proper Suburban Skiing Record.

See if you can get permission to use the hill. If it’s OK to go ahead then it’s time to make your skis.

You can make your skis by freezing two blocks of ice that are bigger than your feet. Make sure that you put in ‘fixings’ that will allow you to attach them to your competitors shoes.

Surbiton Ski Sunday used the traditional Catamaran twin blade design. We also put lino down to aid the flow

Then it’s choose your day and get skiing. If you can beat a record please let us know. The team record is for the combined score of three skiiers
